Continuous electric desalting（EDI，Electro-deionization or CDI，Continuous Electrode ionization）is a process of absorbing anion and anion in water supply by using mixed ion-exchange resin, and these absorbed ions are removed through anion and anion exchange membrane respectively under the action of dc voltage. Ion exchange resins do not require acid or base regeneration. This new technology can replace the traditional ion exchange (DI) device, produce the resistivity of up to 16 to 18 M Ω · cm ultrapure water.
